There are many signs also in West Berlin warning the borderline. Allied states, USA, England and France, and West Germany, West Berlin do not recognize the Wall because there should be only one Berlin that may not be devided. But indeed East Germany built the Wall and many kinds of watching systems in the "no-man's-land". Therefore they must warn danger with signs.
Signs in the photos above tell "The end of the american sector. The space ahead belong to East Berlin." This phrase is written also in turkish language, because many people from Turkey live in this town. As the sign tells, where the Wall stands is not the real borderline and a citizen on bicycle in the picture is located in East Berlin.
